Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with setting up my Xiaomi Air Purifier 2S and exploring the possibility of creating a generic thermostat using Homey. It’s been a fun journey with some challenges along the way, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and tips!
Starting with the Xiaomi Air Purifier, I’ve been really impressed with its performance. However, I noticed that the default setup in Home Assistant didn’t showcase all the sensors and switches I wanted. After some research and tinkering, I managed to configure everything properly. I had to spend a good amount of time customizing the layout and automations, but the result is fantastic! The air quality, temperature, and humidity sensors are all visible, and I even integrated it into HomeKit. I handpicked some icons to make it look sleek, and now it’s a seamless part of my smart home setup.
As for the Homey thermostat idea, I’ve been curious about replicating the functionality I’ve seen in Home Assistant. The concept is to use a temperature sensor to control an electric heater via a NoDon module. I’d love to set this up so I can adjust room temperatures using built-in thermostat cards. Has anyone successfully done something similar? I’d appreciate any advice or pointers!
It’s amazing how these devices can work together to create a comfortable and efficient home environment. I’m really grateful for the community’s support and resources that made this possible. If anyone has tips or suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
