Connecting a T2 relay to a G410 door bell to unlock the door

Hello.

I’m new to Aqara devices and need some help.

I have purchased a G410 doorbell to have connected a T2 relay as a child device.

i want a short cut on the G410 app to allow me to trigger the T2 to unlock the gates

I previously tried to do this with the G400 Doorbell but was informed I cant have an unlock button on the app and that a need a G410.

Many thanks

@kevin_donnelly Hey there! Welcome to the Aqara ecosystem — the G410 is a solid choice for your setup.

Good news: the G410 acts as a Matter Controller and Thread Border Router, and it supports Linked Device Control for direct lock/unlock actions right from the doorbell’s live video page. This is exactly the upgrade path you were looking for from the G400.

However, I need to flag something important about your specific goal. The Linked Device Control feature on G410 is designed to work with Aqara smart locks (like the U200, U100, etc.) for one-click unlocking. The T2 Dual Relay Module, while excellent for automating gates, motors, and dry contact devices, isn’t a door lock — so it won’t appear as a “Link” shortcut in the doorbell interface the same way.

That said, you can absolutely automate the T2 with the G410. Here’s the practical path:

  1. Pair the T2 to the G410 (it’ll join as a Zigbee child device)
  2. Create an automation: When doorbell button pressed (or face detected, etc.) → Then T2 turns on for X seconds to trigger your gate mechanism
  3. For manual control: Set the T2 as a favorite device, or create a manual scene (“Open Gate”) that you can trigger from the Aqara Home app homepage — not inside the doorbell page, but one tap away

If you specifically need that in-doorbell-page shortcut, you’d want to pair the G410 with a U200 or other supported Aqara lock. The T2 automation route gives you more flexibility for non-standard setups, just with a slightly different workflow.

Want me to dig into the automation specifics, or are you open to swapping the T2 for a compatible lock if your gate mechanism supports it?

I don’t need a key pad or an unlocking mechanism, I only need a dry contact so the U series of door locks are not suitable to use. I just need a simple purpose unlock mechanisim.

@kevin_donnelly Got it — you need a straightforward dry contact trigger for your gate, and the T2 is the right hardware for that job. The limitation here is that Linked Device Control on the G410 is specifically built for Aqara smart locks (U100, U200, etc.) and won’t surface a relay module as a one-click unlock shortcut in the doorbell live view.

For your T2 setup, the cleanest approach is a manual scene tied to the doorbell press:

  1. Pair the T2 to the G410 as a Zigbee child device
  2. Create an automation: G410 doorbell pressed → T2 relay toggles for your desired pulse duration to open the gate
  3. Enable push notifications on the G410 so you get alerted when someone rings

When the notification comes in, you can tap it to enter the live view — but to actually trigger the T2, you’d swipe to your Aqara Home app homepage or widget and fire the manual scene. It’s one extra tap compared to the native lock integration, but it keeps your dry contact setup intact.

If that workflow feels clunky, another angle is checking whether your gate controller can accept a momentary input from a U200 or similar lock’s relay output — though that may be overkill for your needs.

Want help refining the automation logic (pulse timing, conditions, etc.)?

So are you suggesting Aqara don’t produce a video door bell that allows the one-click unlock shortcut to be added to the video screen and also don’t produce a door lock with a dry contact?

@kevin_donnelly Hello @kevin_donnelly,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and clarifying your specific needs. It is completely understandable to want a streamlined, one-tap experience for unlocking your gate, especially when you already have the hardware in place.

You are correct that the current Linked Device Control feature on the G410 (and G4 series) is specifically designed to integrate with Aqara smart locks (such as the U100, U200, U300, A100, D100, and D200) to provide that one-click unlock shortcut on the doorbell’s live video page. These locks support remote unlocking, which allows the system to recognize them as valid targets for this specific interface integration.

Currently, the T2 Dual Relay Module is categorized as a switch/relay device rather than a smart lock, so it does not appear as a “Link” option in the doorbell interface for one-touch unlocking. While the U-series locks offer this convenience, they are primarily designed for door mechanisms. Finding a dedicated smart lock with a simple dry contact output for gate automation that also integrates natively into the doorbell’s “Link” tab is a niche requirement that isn’t currently covered by the standard smart lock lineup.

Since this is a specific feature request regarding interface integration for relay modules and potentially a new product category, I encourage you to share this suggestion directly with our team. They are always looking for user insights to improve workflows and product offerings.

This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.

In the meantime, using the automation route (triggering the T2 via a scene or automation upon doorbell press) remains the most reliable way to use your T2 relay with the G410.

Thanks again for helping us understand your workflow better

I have the same need here.
G410 connected to a T2. Panel Hub S1 Plus allows me to get feedback from the G410. But in full-screen mode, unfortunately, I can’t open my portal. Currently, as a workaround, I installed an S1 panel right next to the Panel Hub S1 Plus with a scene that controls the opening of the gate.
