Connecting Fibaro Dimmers to Homey: Tips and Tricks

Hey everyone, I just got my Homey and I’m super excited to start integrating my Fibaro dimmer switches! I’ve been using them with Vera before, and now I want to switch over. I was worried I’d have to dismantle all my switches to unpair them from Vera and connect to Homey, which would mean hiring an electrician and waiting ages. But hey, I did some research and found out there’s a way to do it without taking everything apart! :tada:

I thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is wondering. First off, I used the Vera app to unpair the switches from Vera. It took a bit of trial and error, but it worked! Then, I followed Homey’s setup guide to pair them. No need for tools or an electrician—just a bit of patience. Now, my dimmers are all set and working perfectly with Homey. Talk about a breath of fresh air!

While I was at it, I saw some posts about issues with sensor-controlled switches being too sensitive. One user mentioned their motion sensor kept triggering the lights off and on again. I thought that was a common problem, so I looked into it. Turns out, adding a small delay or ignoring the sensor for a few seconds after the lights turn off can solve it! I set up a quick automation in Homey to ignore the sensor for 5 seconds after the lights go off. It’s been working like a charm! :hammer_and_wrench:

Another thing I came across was optimizing the Zigbee network. I had a few devices that were acting up, and someone suggested checking the Zigbee channel. I changed it to 11, which is what Homey uses, and made sure my Wi-Fi was on a non-overlapping channel. It made a world of difference! Now, my devices are super reliable, and I don’t get any dropouts. If you’re having Zigbee issues, give this a try! :signal_strength:

I’d love to hear how others are setting up their Homey systems. Do you have any tips or tricks for integrating different devices? Or maybe some cool automations you’ve created? Let’s share and learn together! :hugs:
