Connecting Hue LED Strip After Bridge Replacement

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience with reconnecting my Hue LED strip after replacing my old Hue bridge. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m thrilled to have everything working again!

First, a little background: My old Hue bridge was acting up, so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I got the new bridge set up and everything seemed to go smoothly at first. But when I tried to reconnect my Hue LED strip, it just wouldn’t work. I tried both the serial number method and the regular detection method, but nothing seemed to work. I was a bit puzzled and a little frustrated, to be honest.

I started by checking the Hue app to see if the LED strip was being detected. It wasn’t showing up at all, which was confusing because I knew the strip was working before. I double-checked the connections to make sure everything was properly wired. I even tried resetting the strip to factory settings, just in case. Still no luck.

After some research, I came across a post in the community where someone mentioned a firmware update that might have caused similar issues. They suggested trying to remove the strip from the app and then re-adding it. I decided to give that a shot. I went into the Hue app, found the LED strip under devices, and removed it. Then I restarted the app and tried adding it again. Lo and behold, it worked! The strip was detected and connected without any problems.

I’m not entirely sure why the firmware update caused the issue, but I’m just happy it’s working again. It’s a relief to have my lights back to normal. I guess the key takeaway here is to always check for firmware updates and not to hesitate to try removing and re-adding devices if something isn’t working.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences or if there are other troubleshooting tips that might help others in the same situation. Happy lighting everyone! :star2:
