Connecting SolarEdge Inverter and Expanding Arlo Cameras: My Journey

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experiences with integrating some new devices into my smart home setup. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m excited to see how everything comes together!

First off, I’ve been trying to connect my new SolarEdge three-phase inverter using Modbus TCP. I’ve got it set up with SunSpec, but I’m running into some issues where the data isn’t showing up as expected. The ports are correct, and the inverter is connected via Ethernet, but the values remain zero. I’ve checked the logs, but the parse errors aren’t giving me much to go on. If anyone has successfully done this, I’d love to hear your tips or troubleshooting steps!

On another front, I’ve been expanding my Arlo camera setup. I currently have five cameras connected to my first VMB4000 base station, and I wanted to add more for better coverage. After setting up a second base station, I ran into a snag when trying to add the first camera—it asked me to purchase a subscription plan. I’m curious if there’s a way around this without upgrading my plan. Has anyone else encountered this and found a workaround?

It’s been a bit frustrating, but I’m determined to get everything up and running smoothly. I’d love to hear from anyone who has tackled similar projects or has advice on optimizing these systems. Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other out!

Cheers,
