Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my experience with integrating my Xfinity Home door sensors into the SmartThings ecosystem. After discontinuing my Xfinity service, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could keep all my sensors, including the Visonic MCT-320 SMA Door/Window Sensors. I decided to try pairing them with my SmartThings Hub, and while the process was a bit of a journey, I managed to get them working!
Initially, I paired the sensors with my SmartThings Hub without any issues, but I noticed that the status was listed as ‘unknown.’ This was a bit puzzling, but I didn’t let it deter me. After some research and experimentation, I found that updating the firmware on my SmartThings Hub and ensuring all sensors were within range helped stabilize the connection.
One thing I particularly appreciate is how seamlessly these sensors integrate with my existing smart home setup. I’ve set up routines where the lights turn on if a door is opened after dark, and I receive notifications on my phone. It’s given me peace of mind knowing my home is secure.
