Converting Wired Security System to Wireless

I’m in the process of upgrading my home security system from a wired setup to a wireless one, and I’m excited to share my journey and seek some advice from the community. Currently, I have a Tyco monitored wired system with three 360-degree motion sensors. While these sensors have been reliable, they’ve also given me a few headaches with false alarms. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues with their motion sensors in large, open spaces like a church building.

I came across the 2GIG system and the TAKE-345 converter, which seems like a great solution for transitioning my existing wired zones to wireless. My first question is: Will the TAKE-345 allow me to replace these motion sensors one at a time as I’m able? I’d prefer not to replace all three at once if possible. Second, I’m wondering if 2GIG offers a 360-degree motion sensor or if the standard PIR1-345 would suffice. I’ve heard great things about the pet-safe SSS-345, but since there are no pets in the building, I’m leaning towards the standard PIR1-345. However, I’d love to hear others’ experiences with these sensors in similar environments.

The building is quite large, and the open field it’s situated in might be contributing to the false alarms. I’m also considering whether the placement of the sensors could be optimized to reduce these incidents. Has anyone else dealt with false alarms in a similar setup? Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

I’m really looking forward to hearing from others who might have gone through a similar conversion process or have insights into optimizing motion sensor performance. Thanks in advance for your help and advice!
