Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a fun project I recently completed that turned out amazing. Inspired by the eerie yet cool lighting effects from Stranger Things, I decided to create a similar setup using Govee RGBIC strips. It was a blast to work on, and the end result is something I’m really proud of!I’ve always been a fan of how lighting can completely transform a space, and with the flexibility of RGB strips, the possibilities are endless. For this project, I used a few 65.6ft Govee RGBIC strips and some DIY skills to achieve that retro, otherworldly glow. The process was surprisingly straightforward once I planned everything out. Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:- Planning: I started by sketching out where I wanted the lights to go. I focused on creating a moody atmosphere, so I placed the strips in areas where the light would cast interesting shadows.- Installation: Using some simple tools, I mounted the strips along the baseboards and around door frames. The adhesive backing made it a breeze to attach them without any drilling.- Control: I connected everything to my existing smart home system using the Govee app. Setting up scenes was a cinch, and now I can switch between different color schemes with just a tap.One tip I’d give to anyone looking to try something similar is to experiment with different color combinations. I found that using cooler tones like blues and purples really amps up that sci-fi vibe. Also, don’t be afraid to mix in some white light for balance. If you’re thinking about diving into DIY lighting projects, I highly recommend giving RGB strips a try. They’re affordable, easy to work with, and the results are truly stunning. Let me know if you have any questions or if you’ve tried something similar—I’d love to hear about your experiences!Cheers to creative lighting projects! ![]()
