I’ve been really intrigued by the idea of non-connected LED bulbs that change their color temperature as they dim. I’ve seen some flashlights that do this, starting at 5000K when fully bright and shifting to 2700K at 10% brightness. It creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and I’d love to incorporate this into my home lighting setup.
However, I’ve had a hard time finding these bulbs. Does anyone know of any manufacturers that offer this feature? I’m considering the Philips Hue Warm to Cool smart bulb as an alternative, but I’m curious if there are other options out there.
If I go with the Philips Hue, I’d like to integrate them seamlessly into my existing smart home ecosystem. I’m wondering if this can be done entirely through Zigbee without needing a separate bridge. Also, are there any tools or apps that allow for a smooth brightness/temperature ramp, or would I need to set up custom modes manually?
Another thought I have is about the installation process. If I decide to use these bulbs, should I hardwire ceiling fixtures behind the switch and control the dimming/temperature via Hubitat? I’m not entirely sure about the best approach here, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I’m really excited about the potential of these bulbs to enhance my home’s ambiance, and I’d love to hear from others who might have experience with similar setups or recommendations for achieving this effect. Let’s discuss!
