Hey everyone! So I recently went all-in on automating the climate in my house with Aqara gear, and honestly, it’s been a total game changer. Thought I’d share how it’s working out — maybe it’ll give someone some ideas or inspo.
To set the stage: I’m kind of a smart home enthusiast (read: borderline obsessed) with a thing for comfortable temps. I hate coming home to a freezing house in the winter, or waking up drowning in sweat because I forgot to tone down the heating before bed.
Enter Aqara. I paired temp/humidity sensors with the Radiator Thermostats and threw in some automation madness. The dream? Zoned heating based on time of day and current climate in each room. It wasn’t that crazy to set up — I used HomeKit as the bridge.
For example:
- Bedroom cools down to 18°C after 11pm automatically.
- Living room heats to 21°C at 7am when I make coffee (motion sensor + climate triggers).
- If humidity hits 65%, the dehumidifier kicks on — no more jungle vibes indoors.
The temperature is finally consistent where I want it, and better yet, I’m not fiddling with thermostats every two hours. Plus, it saved me a noticeable chunk on energy bills last month. Win-win.
Curious if anyone else has done a multi-room setup like this or has tips for even finer control. Thinking of adding an outdoor sensor next to prep for seasonal shifts.
Would love to hear how others are using Aqara for climate stuff!
