Creating a Custom Dashboard for Multiple Devices

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately and it’s been a blast! I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on and see if anyone has any tips or tricks to make it even better.

So, I’ve got this setup with multiple devices—specifically, six First Alert Z-Combo Smoke/CO detectors. I’ve been trying to figure out how to consolidate their statuses into a single dashboard tile. Initially, I was adding a status tile for either smoke or CO for each detector, which ended up being 12 tiles in total. It got a bit overwhelming, to be honest!

My goal was to design a main dashboard that’s representative of all my devices but uses as few tiles as possible. I started experimenting with virtual devices and attribute tiles, but it didn’t quite work out. I came across some suggestions in the community about creating a virtual tile that represents all six devices. The idea is to have one tile that shows the status of all smoke detectors and another for all CO detectors. This way, I can reduce the number of tiles from 12 to just 2!

I’ve also been thinking about how to apply this approach to other devices, like door sensors, window sensors, and temperature sensors. It would be amazing to have a dashboard that gives me a quick overview of my entire home’s status without getting bogged down in the details.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tackled a similar project or has any tips on how to make this even more efficient. Has anyone found a way to summarize multiple devices into a single tile? I’m all ears!

Thanks for your help, and happy automating! :rocket:
