Hey everyone! I’m currently working on setting up a custom smart home automation system, and I wanted to share my progress and ask for some advice.
I’ve been experimenting with integrating multiple devices from different brands, including smart lights, thermostats, and security cameras. While I’ve managed to get most things working smoothly, I’m running into a few challenges.
One issue I’m facing is getting all my devices to communicate seamlessly. I’ve heard that using a central hub can help, but I’m not entirely sure which one would be best for my setup. I’m also curious about how others handle scheduling and automation rules across different devices.
Another thing I’m exploring is the possibility of adding voice control to my system. I’ve tried integrating Alexa, but I’m not entirely satisfied with the results. Does anyone have tips on making voice commands more reliable or adding custom voice commands?
I’d also love to hear about any creative automation ideas people have implemented in their homes. For example, I’m thinking about setting up a system where my lights dim and my thermostat adjusts automatically when I watch a movie in the evening.
