With the holiday season just around the corner, I wanted to share my experience in creating a stunning Christmas lighting display using Alexa and Govee lights. This year, I took inspiration from my appearance on The Great Christmas Lights Fight and decided to elevate my setup even further.
One of the key challenges I faced was synchronizing all my lights, including my Govee decorations, to turn on simultaneously. After some research, I discovered that grouping all my smart plugs into one Alexa routine made the process much smoother. By naming the group “Christmas Display,” I could simply say, “Alexa, turn on Christmas Display,” and watch as my entire setup lit up in unison.
This year, I added even more detail to my display. The centerpiece is an arbor adorned with four trumpeting angels, flanked by elegant prismatic deer and towering Christmas trees with synchronized Twinkly lights. At the top of the steps, two radiant prismatic angels frame a magnificent 9-foot tree, while an 8.5-foot Santa Claus stands majestically beneath an archway of presents.
What I love most about using Alexa and Govee is how easy it is to automate and customize the entire experience. Whether it’s adjusting the brightness of certain lights or setting up timed sequences, the flexibility of smart home technology truly brings the holiday magic to life.
