Hi everyone! I’ve been exploring ways to enhance my smart home setup, and I’m really excited to share an idea I’ve been working on. I’ve been thinking about creating a relaxing evening scene that combines smart lights and speakers to create a cozy atmosphere. I’d love to hear your thoughts and tips on how to make this even better!
I’ve been using Philips Hue bulbs for a while now, and they’ve been fantastic for adjusting the mood in different rooms. I’ve also recently added a Sonos speaker system, which has really elevated the experience. My idea is to create a scene where the lights dim to a warm, golden hue, and soft background music starts playing as the sun sets. I’ve set this up using my Home Assistant, but I’m wondering if there are any additional features or integrations I could use to make it even more seamless.
One thing I’m curious about is whether it’s possible to have the lights and music adjust based on the time of year or the weather. For example, maybe having the lights automatically dim a bit more on colder evenings or adjusting the playlist based on the forecast. I’m also thinking about adding some smart curtains to close automatically as part of the scene. Does anyone have experience with integrating curtains into their evening routines?
Another thing I’m exploring is using voice commands to trigger this scene. I’d love to be able to say, “Hey Google, start my evening relaxation mode,” and have everything turn on with a single command. I’ve set this up using the Google Assistant integration, but I’m wondering if there are any potential issues or improvements I should consider.
I’d also love to hear about how others have customized their evening scenes. Do you have any favorite playlists or lighting settings that you find particularly relaxing? I’m always looking for new ideas to make my home feel even more comfortable and welcoming. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and experiences! ![]()
