Creating a Spooky Atmosphere with Smart Lighting
As Halloween approaches, I’ve been thinking about how to create a truly spooky atmosphere in my home using smart lighting. I’ve been experimenting with my Govee LED strips and some motion sensors to make it happen!
Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Motion-Activated Spooky Effects - I’ve set up motion sensors near my front door and in the hallway. When someone approaches, the lights flicker and dim, creating an eerie effect. It’s surprisingly easy to program this using my smart hub!

Color-Changing Effects - I’ve programmed my lights to transition through different colors like red, orange, and purple to match the Halloween theme. It’s amazing how much impact this simple change can have!

Dimming for Mood - I’ve also set up a scene where the lights gradually dim over time, creating a mysterious ambiance in the evenings.
