Creating a Vacation Away Mode with Zigbee Lights

Hey everyone, I’m getting ready for a couple of days off and I want to make sure my home stays secure while I’m away. I’ve been thinking about setting up an ‘Away Mode’ using my Zigbee-controlled lights to simulate someone being home. I remember seeing some cool setups where lights turn on and off randomly, which would be perfect for making it look like someone’s moving around the house.

I’ve heard that creating a schedule with some randomness is the way to go, but I’m not entirely sure how to set that up. I’ve been using Zigbee2MQTT and it works great for my current setup, but I’m not sure if there’s a built-in feature for randomizing the timing. Maybe there’s a plugin or a script that can help with that?

I also wonder if there’s a user-friendly way to manage this without diving too deep into the code. I’d love to hear your suggestions on how to approach this. Have any of you successfully implemented something similar? What tools or methods did you use?

I’m really excited to get this working because it would not only make my home safer but also give me peace of mind while I’m away. Looking forward to your tips and tricks!
