Hey everyone! I’m really excited to share my journey of setting up custom automation scenarios for different home modes like ‘Away’, ‘Night’, and ‘Vacation’. It’s been a fantastic way to streamline my smart home setup and make daily life more convenient.
I recently upgraded my Home Assistant installation and decided it was the perfect time to dive into creating these modes. The goal was to have a button in Lovelace that, when pressed, would trigger a series of actions such as turning off lights, adjusting thermostats, and arming security systems. It’s all about creating a seamless experience!
One challenge I encountered was figuring out how to trigger multiple actions from a single button press. After some research, I discovered that using templates and conditions within automations was the way to go. For example, when I press the ‘Away’ button, it checks if the house is empty and then proceeds to turn off all lights and lower the thermostat. It’s amazing how much smoother things run now!
I’d love to hear how others have set up their home modes. Do you have any tips or tricks for making these automations even more efficient? Let’s share ideas and maybe even troubleshoot some common issues together. The community here is incredible, and I’m looking forward to learning from everyone’s experiences!
Cheers,
