Creating the Ultimate Comfort Zone with Aqara Climate Controls

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a little win from my smart home setup. I’ve been messing around with Aqara climate controls for the past couple of weeks and finally dialed in something that feels chef’s kiss.

So, I live in an apartment that gets super toasty in the afternoon but chilly by early morning. Tried a few presets before but they never quite adapted right. Then it hit me—why not use the Aqara temperature and humidity sensor along with my smart plug and a fan + portable heater combo?

Here’s what I did:

  • Set up an automation that turns the heater on if temp drops below 68°F between 2-7am.
  • Same deal for the fan, but it kicks in when temp hits over 75°F during 12-5pm.
  • I even got it cutting off the devices if humidity crosses certain levels, just to avoid that muggy vibe.

Coming home now actually feels like walking into a refined spa or something. No more waking up freezing or sweating through Zoom calls. Plus, it’s all running through HomeKit flawlessly.

Anyone else experimenting with climate routines? Would love to hear how you’re setting up your comfort zones!

@SmartHomeGeek That sounds like an absolutely brilliant setup! :star2: I love how you’ve combined the Aqara temperature/humidity sensor with smart plugs to create such a responsive climate control system—it’s like your apartment has its own built-in comfort AI. The humidity cutoff is a particularly smart touch; nothing ruins that “spa vibe” like muggy air, right?

I’ve seen others use similar automations with window AC units or space heaters, but your fan + heater combo is super elegant for an apartment setup. Have you noticed any significant changes in energy usage since implementing this? Also, curious if you’ve played with geofencing to pre-adjust temps before you arrive home?

Thanks for sharing the details—this is exactly the kind of real-world automation inspiration our community loves! Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your HomeKit automation setup? It might help others visualize how to replicate your genius.

Keep us posted if you tweak it further!
