Creative DIY Project: Wyze Outdoor Cam in a Birdhouse

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun DIY project I recently completed with my Wyze Outdoor Cam. After setting up the camera, I decided to mount it in a cedar birdhouse I found at Lowe’s. It was a bit of a challenge, but the result is both functional and aesthetically pleasing!

Initially, I placed the birdhouse on a swinging hook, but it kept getting blown around, causing unnecessary motion triggers. After a week of dealing with this issue, I moved the birdhouse to a stationary post in a planter. This change significantly reduced the false triggers and improved the camera’s stability.

To customize the birdhouse, I had to modify the door to allow easier access to the camera. I simply swung the door back and forth until the pins holding it in place broke. This gave me the space I needed to install the camera and charge it when necessary. I also drilled a larger hole in the front to ensure the lens had an unobstructed view.

For a bit of camouflage, I used a black sharpie to darken the front part of the camera, making it less noticeable. This small touch helps blend the camera into its surroundings without compromising its functionality.

I’m really happy with how this project turned out. It’s not only a great way to monitor my yard but also adds a unique decorative element to my garden. If anyone has similar projects or tips, I’d love to hear about them!
