Creative ESPHome Projects and Community Support

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share some of my recent projects and experiences with ESPHome! :star2:

First off, I’ve been tinkering with ESPHome to create custom solutions for my home. One of my favorite projects was building an interactive game for my 6-month-old daughter. It’s a hexagonal box with colorful LED lights and a speaker, all controlled by a limit switch. The idea was to combine her love for lights with a simple interaction using a rope. I used RTTTL (yes, the old Nokia ringtone format!) to play little tunes when she pulls the rope. It’s been a hit, and I’ve even shared the design and code on my git repository. If anyone’s interested, feel free to check it out! :man::computer:

Another project I’ve been working on is a smart touch lamp using an ESP32-S3 and an AC dimmer module. The goal was to replicate the behavior of a traditional touch lamp that cycles through brightness levels. While I’ve got the basics working, I’m still tweaking the logic to handle different brightness percentages seamlessly. The community has been super helpful with suggestions and troubleshooting—big shoutout to everyone who chimed in!

I’ve also been exploring the integration of Sonos Beam with SmartThings to automate my TV mode. It’s been a fun challenge figuring out how to trigger specific actions when the Beam switches to the TV input. This could be a game-changer for my home theater setup, and I’m eager to see how it all comes together. :video_game::clapper:

One thing I’ve noticed is how supportive and creative this community is. Whether it’s sharing project ideas, troubleshooting code, or just giving moral support, everyone here makes it feel like a second home. If you’re working on something cool, don’t hesitate to share—it might inspire someone else! :bulb:

Let me know if you’ve got any questions or tips for my projects—I’m always looking to learn more! Thanks for being such an amazing community! :raised_hands:
