Hey everyone, I wanted to share a creative solution I came up with for controlling my fan and light independently. I’ve been using a Bond device along with IFTTT to separate the fan and light controls, and it’s been working pretty well. However, I was looking for a way to make it even more seamless, especially for my family who aren’t as tech-savvy as I am.After some research, I stumbled upon a neat trick using a GE Z-Wave on/off switch. I set it up so that a double tap turns on the light, while a single tap controls the fan. This way, my family doesn’t have to remember any specific gestures or commands—they can just use the switch as they normally would. But here’s the cool part: I also integrated this setup with my voice assistant. Now, I can say, “Hey, turn on the fan light,” and it works perfectly without needing the fan to be on. It’s all about making smart home tech feel natural and intuitive, right?I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled a similar situation or has any tips to make this even better. The community here is amazing, and I’m always excited to learn from others’ experiences. Thanks for reading, and happy tinkering! ![]()
