Hi everyone! I wanted to share a fun project I recently completed using my RGB smart lights for outdoor decoration. It’s been a great way to add some festive flair to my garden while also exploring the creative potential of smart home technology. Here’s what I did and how you can try it too!First, I decided to use RGB strips to light up my garden fence. I have a 4-meter fence, and I wanted to create a dynamic lighting effect without the hassle of traditional holiday lights. I opted for RGB strips because they offer a wide range of colors and can be controlled remotely via my smartphone.I started by attaching the strips to the underside of the fence using adhesive backing. This way, the lights are hidden from view, and the illumination is directed downwards, creating a soft, ambient glow. To power the setup, I used a reliable 24V power supply, which I connected to a Shelly RGBW controller. This allows me to adjust the color and brightness settings directly from my phone. One of the best parts of this project is the ability to automate the lights. I set up a routine where the lights change colors throughout the evening, creating a lively atmosphere without any manual intervention. I also integrated motion sensors so that the lights brighten when someone approaches, adding an extra layer of security and convenience.I’d love to hear how others have used their RGB lights creatively! Have you tried lighting up your garden, patio, or any other outdoor spaces? Share your ideas and projects below—I’m always looking for new inspiration!
