Custom Dashboard Setup and Automation Tips

Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into customizing my smart home setup lately, and I wanted to share some tips and experiences that might help others. :rocket:

First off, I’ve been working on creating a dashboard that really suits my daily routines. I stumbled upon a great way to customize icons based on device states, which has been a game-changer for me. For example, I set up my contact sensor so that the dashboard icon changes to a low battery image when the battery is below 20%. It’s super visual and helps me keep track without constantly checking the app. :ok_hand:

Another thing I’ve been exploring is automating my lighting system. I’ve set up a rule where my hallway lights dim after 2 minutes of inactivity but brighten up again if motion is detected. It’s all about balancing convenience and energy efficiency! :bulb:

I also came across some challenges, like setting up my Wyze cameras to record only AI-verified events. Initially, I was frustrated with the constant uploads, but after adjusting the settings, it’s working much smoother now. Plus, the battery life has improved significantly! :iphone::battery:

If anyone has tips on integrating devices from multiple brands or creating more complex automations, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the smart home journey fun and innovative! :tada:
