Custom Lighting Effects: Tips and Tricks

Hey everyone, I’m really excited about my recent journey into the world of smart lighting with Govee! My first purchase was a set of prism lights that I plan to install in my living room. However, I’ve also bought some indoor lights that I’ve set up, and I’m curious about creating custom effects. None of my indoor lights seem to support the workshop feature, which is a bit frustrating because I was told you could import an editable effect from the shared space and then tweak it for your specific light. I’ve tried this but haven’t been able to make it work. Does anyone know how to do deep custom effects on things like the Torchi floor lamp or the 12” ceiling light? I’ve seen some amazing effects online that look like they were created in the workshop, so I’d love to learn how to do that myself!

For those who are new to Govee, I’d love to share a few tips I’ve picked up along the way. First, always start with the basics—understand the different modes and effects your lights support. Then, experiment with the built-in effects before diving into custom ones. If you’re using the Govee app, take some time to explore the shared effects section—it’s a goldmine of inspiration!

Another thing I’ve found really helpful is adjusting the color temperature and brightness settings. Sometimes, a simple tweak can completely change the vibe of a room. I’ve also been playing around with scheduling effects using Home Assistant. It’s amazing how easy it is to automate your lights to match your daily routine or even your mood!

If you’re struggling with creating custom effects, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to hear your tips and tricks, and maybe we can figure this out together. Let’s make our homes shine brighter! :star2:
