Dawn Simulator Clock: A Gentle Wake-Up Solution

Hi everyone, I came across this amazing piece of code for a dawn simulator clock and decided to give it a try. The idea is to have your lights dim up gradually, mimicking the sunrise, to help you wake up more naturally. I thought it would be a great addition to my morning routine, especially during the darker winter months.

The code is pretty straightforward, and I followed the instructions to set it up. I changed the device numbers to match my setup and adjusted the cycle time to 40 minutes. The default settings start at 10% brightness and go up to 100%, which works perfectly for my bedside lamp. I also set the minimum time between steps to 30 seconds to avoid overwhelming the switch.

One thing I noticed is that if you turn off the light during the cycle, it stops immediately, which is super convenient. I’ve been using it for a week now, and it’s been a game-changer. Waking up feels much less jarring, and I’ve noticed I feel more alert in the mornings.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried this or has any tips for fine-tuning the settings. Maybe adjusting the start and end levels or the cycle length could create different effects. Let me know how it goes for you!

Cheers,
Martin
