Hi everyone, I’ve been exploring HomeKit and have come across an interesting challenge. I have a smart switch that integrates with HomeKit, and when it’s toggled, it sends a push notification to my mobile device with three options. However, I’d like to know if it’s possible to identify which specific device triggered the state change. For instance, if my son uses his iPad to toggle the switch, the notification still appears on my phone. Ideally, the notification should go to the device that made the change, allowing my son to respond directly.
I’m not sure if HomeKit allows detecting the source device when a state is changed. I’ve looked into some settings and documentation, but I haven’t found a clear solution yet. Maybe there’s a way to configure notifications to be device-specific? I’d really appreciate any insights or workarounds anyone might have.
This feature would be especially useful in a family setting where multiple devices are used to control smart home elements. It would help avoid confusion and ensure that notifications go to the right person. If anyone has experience with similar setups or knows of a way to achieve this, I’d love to hear about it! Thanks in advance for your help.
