Detecting what the model of a device is?

I have a set of the awesome motion sensors you offer. I’ve had them for a few years, still love them.

Using the Aqara app, how do I detect which model they are? They are just listed as “Motion Sensor”. It seems there should be a handier name to differentiate the different sensors you have?

@david24 It’s wonderful to hear how much you enjoy your Aqara motion sensors! To identify which specific model you have using the Aqara app, you might want to look at the detailed specifications or features of each model. In the app, the sensors might appear with generic names, but their specific features or settings can help you determine the model. For instance, you can check if they support certain protocols like ZigBee3.0 or Thread, or if they have specific functionalities like sensitivity adjustment or light detection. Here are some pointers based on the features:

  • Motion Sensor P1 and P2 support ZigBee3.0 and Thread, respectively, and both have sensitivity adjustment and light detection.
  • FP1E and FP2 utilize mmWave 60 GHz technology, with FP2 offering advanced features like multi-target tracking and fall detection.

Also, if you still have the packaging or the user manual, it might contain the model number or a QR code that you can scan for more details.

Regarding identifying the specific model in the app, the reference information doesn’t currently include details on how to do this directly through the app. If you haven’t already, you might check the physical device itself (like the label or packaging) for model numbers, as these are often printed there.

If you have suggestions for improving model differentiation in the app, feel free to submit feedback through the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for our team to consider.

We also encourage checking the community for tips from other users—sometimes fellow enthusiasts have helpful workarounds!

Thanks for being part of the Aqara family, and we hope you continue to get great use out of your sensors.

Regarding identifying the specific model in the Aqara app, the reference information doesn’t currently include details on how to do this directly within the app. A common workaround might be to check the physical device itself (e.g., the label on the sensor, packaging, or user manual) for model numbers, which can then be cross-referenced with Aqara’s product specifications.

If you’d like to share more details (like the sensor’s appearance or features), the community might help narrow it down! For suggestions on improving app-based model identification, feel free to submit feedback via the Aqara Home App (Profile>Help&Feedback>Customer Service) for our team to review.
