Device Alarm Grouping Two Camera G3, Smoke Detector

I have two Camera G3 Hubs, one Smoke Detector, one U100 Lock, and one E1 Camera.

How do I group all of these together in the Aqara app?

Could you guys give me an example of how you properly grouped these devices together and what child devices were under what device?

For example, I bounded the U100 Lock to the G3 Camera Hub in the Entrance.

Would it be better to have an only one Camera G3 Hub, to act as the main and only hub?

I want to group them properly but the Aqara app is confusing at times.

@amanda2 To address your device grouping question, let’s start with the core capability of the Camera Hub G3: it features a built-in Zigbee 3.0 Hub that can connect up to 128 Aqara sensors and controllers, making it suitable as a central hub for your devices . Here’s a practical grouping approach based on this:

Recommended Grouping Example

  1. Choose one Camera G3 as the main hub (e.g., the “Entrance” G3 you mentioned). This simplifies management since a single hub can handle all Zigbee devices, avoiding split connectivity issues.
  2. Pair Zigbee devices to the main G3:
    • Your U100 Lock is already bounded to the Entrance G3—this is correct, as locks typically connect via Zigbee.
    • Add the Smoke Detector to the same G3 hub (follow the app’s “Add Device” flow for Zigbee sensors).
  3. For non-Zigbee devices (e.g., E1 Camera): Since the E1 Camera connects via Wi-Fi (not Zigbee), it will appear as a standalone device in the app but can be grouped into the same “Room” (e.g., “Entrance”) for organizational purposes.

Why one main hub?

Using a single Camera G3 as the main hub ensures stable communication with all Zigbee devices, as spreading devices across multiple hubs may lead to signal inconsistencies or management confusion . The G3’s 128-device capacity easily handles your current setup.
