Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to see if anyone else has encountered a similar issue with device scanning in their smart home setup. I’ve been working on integrating a device that offers 5 different switches via a RESTful service, and everything seems to be functioning smoothly except for one persistent problem: the device appears to be responding too slowly to Home Assistant’s discovery messages.
From the logs, it looks like at least one of the five switches is consistently missing during the initial setup. The missing switch varies each time, which makes troubleshooting a bit tricky. I’ve tried adjusting the boot time, but the issue remains. My workaround idea is to slow down the discovery process, even if it means a longer boot time, just to ensure all devices are detected properly.
I’d love to hear if anyone has faced a similar challenge or has any tips on how to adjust the discovery timing or improve the device’s response rate. Maybe there’s a configuration tweak or a setting I’m missing that could help stabilize the connection. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help. ![]()
