Hey everyone! I’ve been diving into setting up my smart home devices and wanted to share some experiences and tips that might help others.
First off, I’ve been trying to restrict device setup to specific capabilities to keep things organized, especially with over 200 devices. It’s a bit overwhelming, but figuring out how to specify multiple capabilities in the code has really helped streamline the process. If anyone has tips on this, I’d love to hear them!
Another thing I’ve been working on is notifications. I’ve noticed that sometimes my Echo Show 8 isn’t receiving notifications, even though my Echo Dot and iOS app work perfectly. I’ve tried updates and resetting, but it only works temporarily. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
On a more positive note, I’ve been experimenting with automation rules to trigger lights based on lux levels during specific times. It took some tweaking, but getting it right feels amazing. For anyone looking to do something similar, I’d recommend starting with simple rules and gradually adding complexity.
Lastly, I’ve been impressed with the new Wyze app features. They’ve made notifications and device management much smoother. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly recommend it!
