Hey everyone, I thought I’d share my experience with a tricky issue I encountered recently. I’ve been working with a setup that includes multiple dimmable lights controlled by a master controller, all running on openLuup. Everything seemed to be working smoothly until I noticed that the dimmer slider wasn’t behaving as expected. No matter where I moved it, it would always snap back to zero after a short delay, even though the lights themselves would adjust correctly. This was puzzling because the AltUI interface was functioning well in other aspects—on/off buttons worked, the slider percentage updated correctly, and the light bulb icons changed as they should. The only oddity was the slider’s position reseting to zero. I tried troubleshooting by checking the LoadLevelStatus variable, which did reflect the correct dimmer levels, so the issue wasn’t with the data itself but with how the slider was being displayed or maintained.
I reached out to the community for advice, and while I didn’t find a direct solution, the process of researching and experimenting taught me a lot about how these systems work. I learned about the importance of checking firmware versions, ensuring compatibility between different components, and the role of UI frameworks like AltUI in presenting data. It also highlighted the need for thorough documentation and regular backups, especially when dealing with custom setups.
In the end, while the dimmer slider issue remains unresolved, I gained valuable insights into troubleshooting techniques and the interconnected nature of smart home systems. If anyone has encountered something similar or has suggestions, I’d love to hear about your experiences! ![]()
