Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I came across an interesting issue today and thought I’d share it with the community to see if anyone has any insights or solutions.
So, the question revolves around dimmer sliders in our smart home setups. I noticed that when I try to set a dimmer to 100%, it automatically resets to 99%. At first, I was a bit puzzled by this behavior, but upon digging into the Z-Wave specifications, it seems that 99% is actually the maximum value allowed (with 0 being the minimum). This makes sense when considering that the system operates on a scale of 100 levels, including 0.
However, this raises a couple of questions for me. First, is there a way to adjust the dimmer controls so that they map from 1-100 instead of 0-99? This would make the user experience more intuitive, especially for those who aren’t as familiar with the technicalities of the system. Second, I’m curious if anyone has encountered this issue before and if there are any workarounds or solutions that have been implemented.
I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with this or might have some suggestions on how to approach it. Whether it’s through custom scripting, firmware updates, or any other method, your insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to hearing from you all. Let’s keep the discussion going and see if we can find a solution together! ![]()
