Hey everyone! I’ve been exploring ways to streamline my music setup with Home Assistant and Volumio. I stumbled upon this challenge where I wanted to play individual MP3 files directly without creating multiple playlists. After some digging, I found a neat workaround that I’d love to share!
Initially, I was frustrated because every guide I found emphasized using playlists, which just didn’t fit my use case. I wanted something simpler—just play a single file when needed. Then, I discovered that Volumio supports direct URL playback! By pointing Volumio to the MP3 file’s URL, I can trigger playback without any playlist gymnastics. It’s been a game-changer for my automations!
