Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into some exciting DIY projects and smart home integrations lately, and I’d love to share my experiences and get your thoughts. ![]()
First, I’ve been working on a DIY model of a blue-ringed octopus, which is both tiny and venomous. It’s been a fun challenge to capture its vibrant blue and orange colors. I’d love to hear your feedback on the design and get some ideas for other marine creatures to feature next in my collection! What creatures would you like to see? ![]()
On the smart home front, I’ve been trying to integrate my Fibaro thermostat with Google Assistant. While I can control all my lights and devices through Google Home, the thermostat isn’t showing up. Has anyone successfully connected their Fibaro thermostat to Google Assistant? Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! ![]()
Another project I’ve been exploring is setting up a rule in my openHAB system to trigger a notification only once per evening when the outside temperature drops below the inside temperature. I’d love to hear if anyone has a simple way to implement a cooldown or delay mechanism for such rules. Any suggestions would be super helpful! ![]()
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with automating my home’s heating schedule. It’s been mostly reliable, but recently, some zones aren’t starting as scheduled. The boiler doesn’t always fire up, even though the app shows the correct temperature settings. Manually adjusting the temperature fixes the issue, but it’s frustrating to have to do this every time. If anyone has encountered a similar problem or has a solution, I’d be really grateful for the advice! ![]()
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences! Let’s continue to explore and innovate together in the world of smart home automation. ![]()
