Hey everyone, I wanted to share an exciting DIY project I recently completed—a custom Goldfish-themed disco ball! This project started as a creative challenge and turned into a life-changing experience. Let me walk you through my journey and the lessons I learned along the way.
First, I was inspired by the vibrant visuals of a local music festival. I thought, why not create something unique that could add a magical touch to any event? I decided to design a 3D-printed disco ball shaped like a goldfish, featuring colorful tiles and a sleek finish.
The process was no easy feat. It took me three days to 3D print the goldfish structure, and another three days to carefully hand-glue each of the orange tiles. The final product measures 26 inches long and 14 inches tall, making it a striking centerpiece. I used a combination of silver and rainbow tiles on the reverse side to add versatility and visual interest.
The real test came when I delivered the disco ball to its first event in New York City. Despite some initial challenges with venue restrictions, the Goldfish Disco Ball made its debut at a high-profile performance in Aspen, where it was showcased on the DJ table. The response was overwhelming—musicians, promoters, and fans alike were captivated by its unique design and vibrant glow.
This project has opened doors to new opportunities, including custom orders from artists and event organizers. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see my creation come to life and bring joy to others. If you’re thinking about diving into a DIY project, I’d say go for it! The learning curve is steep, but the satisfaction of creating something truly unique is unmatched.
