The holiday season is always a special time for me, and this year I decided to take my DIY holiday lighting to the next level! 
I’ve been experimenting with smart lighting for a while now, and I wanted to create something truly magical for my home.
I started by planning out where I wanted to place my lights. Under the eaves, along the roofline, and even wrapping around my front porch pillars. I knew I wanted something that could be easily controlled and programmed, so I decided to go with Govee smart LED strips. They’ve been a game-changer for me—bright, colorful, and super easy to set up!
One of my favorite projects this year was creating a dynamic light show that syncs with holiday music. Using the Govee app, I programmed different color schemes and effects to match the tempo of my favorite carols. It’s amazing how much joy it brings to see the lights dancing along with the music! 
I also wanted to make sure my decorations were energy-efficient and long-lasting. I invested in some high-quality adhesive strips to secure the lights in place, and so far, they’ve held up beautifully through wind and rain. The fact that I can control everything from my phone means I don’t even have to leave the comfort of my couch to enjoy the show! 
If you’re thinking about diving into DIY smart lighting this year, I highly recommend starting small and gradually building up your setup. The sense of accomplishment and the joy it brings to your home are absolutely worth it!
