Hello everyone! I came across an interesting project that I’d love to get your input on. I recently purchased an old Hero Health pill dispenser, and after discontinuing their service, I realized it was still functional but locked to their ecosystem. I thought, why not repurpose it?
My goal is to modify this device to become an alcohol dispenser for mixing cocktails. It has stepper motors and a basic LED display, which makes me think it could be controlled via Home Assistant. I’m considering using JTAG or other methods to hack into it, but I’m not entirely sure where to start.
I’d love to know if anyone has experience with similar projects or has resources that could guide me. Additionally, I’m curious if integrating it into HA is feasible and if there are any potential pitfalls I should be aware of.
