Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent DIY smart lighting project. It was a fantastic way to spend the weekend and really brought some life to my home. I’ve always been a fan of RGB lights, but I wanted something a bit more personalized and energy-efficient. After some research, I decided to go with a combination of Shelly RGBW PM and Wiz Light Strip. Both devices are Zigbee compatible, which made integration with my existing setup a breeze.
The process was surprisingly straightforward. I started by mapping out the areas I wanted to illuminate—under the TV, along the bookshelves, and even a small accent strip in the bathroom. I used some leftover PVC tubes to create a sleek casing for the lights, which gave them a more professional look.
One thing I particularly enjoyed was experimenting with different color schemes and brightness levels. The Shelly RGBW PM allowed me to set up custom scenes right from my phone, which is perfect for creating ambiance for different occasions. For example, I set up a warm yellow hue for movie nights and a vibrant blue for gaming sessions.
I also found the Wiz Light Strip to be a great addition, especially for subtle lighting in the bathroom. It’s incredibly thin and flexible, making it easy to install without any major renovations.
This project not only enhanced my home’s aesthetics but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the versatility of smart lighting. It’s amazing how a little creativity and the right tools can transform your space. If anyone has similar projects or tips, I’d love to hear about them!
Cheers to all the DIY enthusiasts out there! ![]()
