DIY Smart Lighting Setup with Philips Hue and SensorNode

Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent DIY smart lighting project using Philips Hue Fugato bulbs and the SensorNode platform. It’s been a fantastic experience, and I’ve learned so much along the way!

I started by setting up the Philips Hue Fugato 4-Spot bulbs in my living room. The color accuracy and brightness are incredible, and the Bluetooth control makes it so easy to adjust the lights without even opening the app. I was really impressed with the integration with Home Assistant, especially after connecting the Hue Bridge. It’s amazing how seamlessly everything works together.

Next, I decided to add some motion sensors to automate the lighting. That’s where SensorNode came in. I backed their Kickstarter campaign, and the platform has exceeded my expectations. The DIY sensor platform is incredibly flexible, and I’ve been able to create custom automations that perfectly suit my lifestyle. For example, when I walk into the room, the lights dim to a cozy setting, and if I’m watching TV, they adjust to reduce glare.

One thing I particularly enjoyed was the ability to control everything through the app or voice commands. It’s so convenient to say, ‘Hey Google, turn on the living room lights,’ or adjust the color temperature for a relaxing evening. The Hue Fugato bulbs even have a built-in dimmer, which adds a nice touch of elegance to my setup.

I also wanted to mention the support I received from the community. When I ran into a minor issue with the SensorNode integration, someone on the forum suggested a workaround that worked perfectly. It’s great to be part of such a helpful and innovative community.

If you’re thinking about diving into smart lighting, I highly recommend starting with Philips Hue and exploring DIY platforms like SensorNode. The combination of ease of use and customization has transformed my home into a truly smart space. Thanks to everyone who contributed to these projects and for the support in making this setup a success! :star2:
