Hey everyone, I just wanted to share a fun and simple DIY project I recently completed—a smart paper towel holder! I’ve been looking for ways to incorporate more smart home elements into my kitchen, and this idea came to me after seeing some cool hacks online.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A glow lamp
- A roll of paper towels

The concept is pretty straightforward. I attached a motion sensor to the underside of the paper towel holder. When someone walks by, the sensor triggers the glow lamp, illuminating the area and making it easier to grab a paper towel. It’s such a small touch, but it’s made a big difference in my kitchen!
I also added a small display screen that shows the current date and time, which adds a nice aesthetic touch. The best part? It only took about an hour to put together, and it was super affordable!
