DIY Smart Scenes with Aqara and IFTTT — Share Your Most Creative Uses!

Hey everyone! So I’ve recently gone down the rabbit hole of automations using Aqara devices and IFTTT, and I gotta say—it’s been kinda addicting.

I’m still pretty new to smart home setups (basically a few months in), but I’ve been playing around with scene triggers and thought it’d be fun to open a thread where we can all share the coolest or weirdest use cases we’ve come up with.

Here’s one of mine I’m ridiculously proud of:
I have an Aqara door sensor on my front door. When I open it between 7 AM and 8 AM on weekdays, it triggers my Aqara plug to turn on the coffee grinder and sends a push notification to my phone that says, “Your caffeine awaits, human.” Cracks me up every time

Tried another scene for when I leave home: If the door is closed and motion hasn’t been detected inside for 10 mins, IFTTT tells Google Assistant to send me a quick “Did you lock the door?” reminder. Saved me 3 unnecessary trips back already.

Anyone else doing fun stuff like this? Maybe something totally unnecessary but that secretly makes life 10x better? Would love to get inspired by what others are cooking up with Aqara + IFTTT!
