DIY Smart Water Heater Integration and Other Smart Home Tips

I just wanted to share my recent project where I successfully integrated my Rinnai water heater into my smart home setup. It was a fun DIY challenge that involved using an ESP32, some custom firmware, and Home Assistant. The process allowed me to control the heater remotely, monitor its status, and even adjust the temperature from my phone. If anyone is into DIY electronics or wants to automate their home, I’d love to discuss this project further and maybe collaborate on improvements!

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up time blocks for my smart devices. It’s been a bit tricky, especially with my thermostatic valves (TRVs). I tried setting a time block for my A/C to turn on at 10 PM and off at 6 AM, but it kept defaulting back to 10:15 PM. After some research, I found that resetting the time blocks and ensuring the devices are properly synchronized helped resolve the issue. If anyone else is struggling with similar problems, feel free to reach out!

Lastly, I came across a rare Govee light fixture that I just had to add to my collection. It’s a simple goose neck LED lamp with four color temperature settings. While it doesn’t connect to the app, it’s a great addition for its unique design. I’d love to hear from others who’ve found and added rare devices to their setups!

If anyone has questions about DIY projects, time block setups, or rare device finds, I’d be happy to help or chat more about these topics. Let’s keep the smart home conversation going! :rocket::bulb:
