Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a fun DIY project to monitor my garden water tank using a Raspberry Pi and HC-SR04 sensor. The goal is to integrate this setup with Homey to create a sleek monitoring system with real-time insights and notifications. Here’s what I’ve done so far and where I’m stuck.
First, I set up the Raspberry Pi with the HC-SR04 sensor and got it working with an LCD display. Now, I want to send the sensor data to Homey. The challenge is figuring out how to make Homey and Raspberry Pi communicate seamlessly. I’ve heard that Homey can handle data inputs, but I’m not sure how to configure it to receive data from the Pi and display it in a user-friendly way.
My ultimate vision is to have a custom app or device that shows the water level in real-time, maybe with some cool graphics using Homey’s Insight feature. But first, I need to solve the communication part. Any tips or advice on how to set this up would be super helpful!
I’ve also been exploring scripts and plugins that might help automate the data transfer. It’s a bit overwhelming, but I’m excited to see this project come together. If anyone has experience with similar setups or knows of any resources, I’d love to hear about them!
Stay tuned for updates as I dive deeper into this project. Fingers crossed for a successful integration! ![]()
