I’m looking for your honest opinion and experiences. I have a few window and door sensors that work great, but I was thinking about about replacing one of them with the new P100.
The one I’m thinking of is the sensor of my main door. I live in a block of flats, and I currently use the sensor to auto-lock the U200.
I want your honest feedback if you think it’s worth the upgrade.
The P100 would look better on my door than the old sensor. Apart from that, I would be able to send a notification/flash the lights if someone knocks on the door, but it’s not that important to me to automate that.
Do you think I should upgrade? Or do you see any other benefits of the P100 in my case?
Btw I use other sensors as window sensors - they work great and I use them to disable heating/humidifier when the window is open.

I have been contemplating these for my windows. Already have contact sensors in my doors and recessed them into the top of the door with magnet in the trim to hide them. For my use case I feel these would be a great addition to my Aqara security system to detect window open or close and window break.

Honestly, you won’t get any real functional advantage from it - it’s more of a side-step than an actual upgrade. However, since the device fits your design much better and isn’t particularly expensive, it’s probably worth making the jump. Otherwise, it’s just going to be an eyesore that bothers you every single time you walk through the door.

Thank you. Maybe you’re right. For the time being I’ll put the purchase off for later.
If I find myself in a situation that I need another contact sensor, I’ll reuse the one from my door and buy P100 for the entrance door. But now I don’t need it

As a replacement of existing sensors that work perfectly fine - don’t upgrade. For new use-cases, give it a try. Get 1 first and test though, make sure you’re satisfied with it before buying many.

Ended up buying the P100. Works pretty much the same as my old sensor, but I bumped the sensitivity to the max, because otherwise it sometimes didn’t detect the door closure when it was closed to gently.
It has a very slight (and almost unnoticeable) delay before detecting “closed” state, but it’s a good thing for me - my old sensor sometimes was to fast and started locking the door before they actually “clicked” if you were too slow/too gentle. So the <10s delay is ok.
I had to stick it around 5cm from the edge of the door - no false negatives. I believe anything closer was too close to the inner metal frame and sometimes it cause false negatives (it didn’t detect closure).
Otherwise, really nice looking and great product.

Oh, and forgot to add - the old sensor was repurposed to automate the kitchen hood lights (which are Aqara T2 GU10).
The hood is almost all magnetic metal, so I’ve hidden the bigger part in the plastic cap and sticked the magnet to the cabinet door (not the perfect setup, but I didn’t have to modify anything). The P100 would not fit unfortunately:
Btw, this sensor has very grease-resistant plastic, I expected it would change color very fast from the grease (we cook a lot), but it actually didn’t change the color, and it’s even really easy to clean, you can even clean it with a dry cloth. An unexpected surprise, but a positive one.
