I’m planning to attach an Aqara Smart Valve Controller T1 to the main water pipe in our house so that it can automatically shut off the water in case of a leak.
Has anyone had any experience with it? Would you recommend it?

Your welcome.it is awesome to have such device on the house unfortunately I can’t use it as mine is outside the house we’re the WiFi or zigbee doesn’t reach but those who can install and use such device they should.the only thing to make it to work without issues you need to have an good hub and some zigbee bridges around the house like smart plugs or led strips from aqara this way you can be sure that the zigbee connectivity is strong between the devices.

My general experience/feedback is that it is fine, but a few points to consider.
- It could benefit from higher torque. Assuming your ball valve isn’t too stubborn it should work fine.
- The mount is also somewhat difficult to install. I’m directly comparing to the Bulldog in this case, which really nailed the mounting design.
- Depending on where your valve is, range could be an issue. Whole home shut offs are often in crawl spaces and basements where I am, so extending zigbee range down there is a key consideration.
