Hello,
I’m just wondering if I’d need a Hub for this? I bought a U50 not knowing that it needed additional hardware to work fully with the Google Home so I’m curious if that’s the same for the U400?
Hello,

@onesneakymofo Hello! For the Aqara Smart Door Lock U400 to work fully with Google Home, a hub is indeed required. According to the third-party platform function list for the U400, when binding through an Aqara Matter hub, it supports remote unlocking/locking via Google Home. This is similar to your experience with the U50, which also needs a hub for Google Home integration. Using an Aqara Matter hub ensures you can enjoy remote control features through Google Home smoothly.
If you need further details on hub models or setup steps, feel free to share—I’m happy to help
