Don't start with a product, start with a problem

Instead of buying a product and then see what you can do with it, it’s best to find a problem you want to solve and then look at what products fit your use case.

Once you have some problems solved, of course there is a place to buy something interesting to tinker with, but keep in mind that it might not be useful in your situation as you bought it to play with instead of trying to solve something.

I’d also say, think of the problem, search to see if anyone has done it already and, if not, then ask on how it could be done.
