As I move towards automating and securing my home with mainly Aqara products and Home Assistant, am I able to use the same door sensor that I used for the front door on my three rear doors, all of which have bevelled plastic frames? On the front door I have something that Amazon describes as “Aqara Zigbee Door and Window Sensor, Wireless Mini Contact Sensor”. But the rear doors are as in the photo and so the magnet would need to be at an angle to the main sensor unit. Should this still work?

Hi, yes, the magnet will hold the reed switch in the old opening sensor. I also place the magnet a little far from the sensor. Eventually, you can take (temporarily) the sensor out of the door and test it on the window.

The sensor can sense the magnet (the second smaller module) up to 2cm. A little offset will still work as long as both modules are close (when the window is closed)

Alternatively, the Aqara P100 Multistate Sensor is also worth mentioning. It works like a window/door contact but without a magnet (One-Piece Design). I have it on my bathroom door, and it works via Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant.

Exactly! Also would recommend more the P100 ! Definitely an upgrade with more options instead of the old, simple door sensor

I had the same problem, wanting to put a door sensor on an outside conservatory door but not possible due the shape of the architrave - similar to yours. This was a Philips Hue sensor but I have an Aqara one which would have the same problem.
In the UK UPVC doors like this are common on conservatories and patio doors.
They also have multi-point locking systems which means I would struggle to fit any of the Aqara door locking devices.

I ordered one to try on one if the rear doors. It works fine. I shall now order others for similar doors (and maybe windows).
