Doorbell G400 noise and occasional chime from physical chime

I used to use the Aqara Doorbell G4, but I recently upgraded to the G400.

I’ve started hearing noise coming from the physical chime inside my house, and occasionally, only the first note of the chime rings out very faintly. I didn’t have this problem with the G4, so I’m at a loss as to what’s causing it. When the doorbell sound is described as “ding-dong,” only the “ding” part rings at about a quarter of the normal volume. Since it’s just the “ding,” my dogs don’t seem to realize it’s the doorbell and don’t make a fuss, but since it happens randomly, it startles me. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Edit: I have set the doorbell sound to play through the HomePod.

Hi Ken, apologies, but the G400 video doorbell is not compatible with any physical chimes. The G4 was compatible with a physical chime.

Thanks and hope this helps,

The noise coming from your chime likely sounds like a rattle and an occasional strike of the hammer to the chime. Am I right? This is likely because your transformer is connected through chime to the doorbell and is it is underpowered. Don’t expect the chime to ding when the doorbell is pressed, but a more powerful transformer should help. And while you’re installing it you could remove the chime from the flow.
