Dynamic Energy Contract Setup with Color Awareness

Hi everyone, I’m excited to share my recent project to prepare for a dynamic energy contract! I’ve created a simple automation that displays energy prices using five colors, and it’s been a fun way to engage my family in energy-saving discussions. Here’s how it works:

  • Green: When the price is below €0.20/kWh or when our solar panels return more than 500 Watts to the grid.
  • Blue, Yellow, Purple, and Red: Indicate progressively higher prices, with red being the most expensive.

This setup has sparked some great dinner table conversations about energy usage and costs. It’s a fun and engaging way to raise awareness about dynamic energy pricing, and it’s helping us get ready to make smarter energy decisions.

If you’re interested in setting something similar up, feel free to ask for more details! I’d be happy to share the automation code and any tips I’ve learned along the way.

Best regards,
